It's all a comedy

It's all a comedy after all
No need to take your days so seriously
No need to wear your tears to the ball,
The finale isn't so great, but the story is worth staying for the curtain call,
So why spend your time frantically pacing the floorboards,
Carving trenches down the hall?
If only you could see from the sidelines,
It isn't worth half the fuss you make at all,
It's all a comedy, so why aren't you laughing
Harsh lines chiseled down your face,
You'd think you seen the ghost of a tomorrow that never came,
While you were too busy standing in the same place.
No need for the dramatic, no one cares any way,
It's all a gas, so stop building up the theatrics
This is supposed to be a comedy, that's what they say

Kintsugi

The world seems so distant these days
Passers-by adorning their Sunday best,
Hiding behind their nicest masks,
Places to go, things to buy, people to please,
There's always been such status in going,
Going so fast that time seems to fly by,
The kitchen littered with the pages of calendars from years that were all but blinked away,
Which mask will look good today, what of tomorrow?
What will the others think?
Too busy to waste a seconds thought on being,
Afterall there's too much left to be done before we can make time to feel
Who has time to enjoy the living of life?
When there are places to go, things buy and people to please,
Best iron my Sunday best,
Wouldn't want the crowd to notice the cracks in my mask,
I wouldn't want them to see the face skillfully hidden beneath it,
What would they think?
Afterall, I'm nothing more than a collection of their gazes,
Because who has time for the meaning?
Life is nothing more than comedy after all,
And I am nothing more than the mask I cower behind.

My lips hover

My lips hover over hers,
Something in her eyes tells me I am for her,
My heart cannot disagree,
There is no ecstasy live being loved as you are,
Raw and bare,
No smoke or mirrors to obscure your insecurities,
Just flesh and spirit,
To be loved and to love in return,
The greatest gift of life is to find yourself in another's gaze,
Two souls binding to find comfort in a familiar embrace,
There is no act quite as innocent and terrifying,
As to love and be loved on return
